State Supreme Courts and the Great American Experiment: Honoring Chief Justice John D. Minton, Jr.

Kentucky Law Journal Symposium

The 2023 Fall Kentucky Law Journal Symposium will examine the role of state Supreme Courts as laboratories of democracy, as well as honor the service and legacy of the recently retired Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court, John D. Minton, Jr. We are excited to bring together nationally renowned legal scholars, judges, and practitioners to explore these topics.

We are thrilled to be joined by former Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, who will be delivering our keynote address, as well as featured panelists Chief Justice Laurance VanMeter and Deputy Chief Justice (ret.) Lisabeth Hughes. Chief Justice Minton will be delivering closing remarks.

The Symposium will be held at the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law on October 13, 2023 (9:00am - 5:00pm) in the G. Chad Perry III Grand Courtroom #199.
